Support for Whaleback Children’s Camp
Our lodge was proud to support Whaleback Summer Camp for their 5th season. Children attending Whaleback Summer Camp participate in activities like hiking the mountain trails, fort building, arts and crafts, a weekly talent show, group games and water play.
Their mission statement says, "Whaleback Mountain Summer Day Camp inspires kids to explore their passions and build confidence in an exciting and unique day camp that emphasizes independence, friendship, discovery, and fun."
Veterans Committee Activities
Donations to Veterans Charities
The Veterans Committee recently distributed $7,000 to the following charities that support Veterans: Fisher House Foundation, Gary Sinise Foundation, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Tunnels 2 Towers, NH Veterans Cemetery Boscawen, NH, Honor Flight New England, Warriors at 45 North, Hero Pups, WRJ VA and The Tilton Veterans Home.
On Wednesday, July 15, The Veterans Committee presented (20) $50 Walmart gift cards to Karen Campbell, Chief of the Center for Development and Civic Engagement at the White River Junction VA. These gift cards will be distributed by the VA to those Veterans most in need. This donation was made possible through the Freedom Grant received from the Elks National Foundation.
On Wednesday, July 15, the Veterans Committee donated men’s undergarments and reading glasses totaling over $500 to the WRJ VA. These are items that are not made available through the Government but desperately needed by our Veterans.
On Wednesday, July 15, ten lap quilts, given by Charlene Parker and her manager, were given to the WRJ VA. We’re very appreciative of their donation.
